Hi
Im looking at designing a boost converter which will boost from low voltages, say from values starting from 0.5v to 2v which i want to boost to say maybe 5v or higher. Is that possible? And also im not familiar with how i go about choosing the right components and also what values of the inductor(L) or capacitor(C) i use. Trying to make the converter myself rather than buying modules so that i can learn how to make it. I plan to make another converter with higher input values so wanted to learn how to design a converter so that i can make it depending on what values i want to to boost to later. Any help or links to where i can get started would be much appreciated.

0.5V is too low to turn on a silicon transistor so a boost converter will not work.

Try LTC3108. Works off 20mV.
