Hi Guys

Firstly let me apologise if a) this is in completely the wrong place b) I am asking a stupid question :)

My OH writes programmes for Taxi meters and currently does this on a very old BBC computer with floppy discs and puts them on emproms.
We have now had the programme put on my laptop (XP) and we need a Dataman S4 or S3 in order to transfer the info on to eproms.

My question is simply - Apart from buying one new from 'Dataman' where can I get one ? and also does this piece of equipment come under another name or are they only made by Dataman.

Kindest regards
Ruth

EPROMS are pretty much obsolete technology, but will work perfectly well as long as you have a source for them. Programmers are very easy to find with Google. Prices are all over the map.

This may seem a bit vague, but there are about a dozen different types. Do you have a number off the chip? - it might be something like 27C64.

Most of them are pin-for-pin compatible with more modern EEPROMS, by the way.
