data format that drive LCD

    Correct me if i am wrong. To display any characters from the MCU to the LCD, it is basically send as 2 four-bits binary data which is used to drive the hd44780 driver of the LCD right? Like for example, 0011 0001 will display a '1' to the LCD.

    If it accepts ASCII characters, that is correct.

    Google "44780 tutorial" for more info.
