    A clamp on current meter?
    What "problem" are you having?

There are a number of ways depending on voltage and the current range you want to measure. If this is for an industrial application I would use something like this.

I'd just change that to "if this is for an application where you require this to current to be logged over an extended time" or something like that.

If just for test/maintenance I would second the clamp-on meter, they can be had as a accessory to a normal VOM.

    OK.

Do you require the current to be logged briefly or for extended periods of time? Do you want to monitor each phase individually or all 3 phases at once and show total current? Would Average current be OK or do you need the True RMS current?

I also agree that if this is just for general test and maintenance a simple clamp on should do just fine.
