controlling through pc parallel port

please help me i want to control led through pc parallel port i want to on or off any led on parallel port through c program typed in turbo c ....but i did my best it always keep the leds on whether i send 0x00 to parallel port data pins....what can be the problem i m more confused ......please help

Hello,

What operating system are you using?
Many windows versions do not allow the direct programming of the ports.
