I need to control a cattle feeder.I need it to activate 4 times a day.I need to provide 12v to actuator for 30-45seconds then reverse polarity to close. Are there any economical aftermarket digital controllers that would do that that anyone knows of.

    Is your only power a 12 V battery ?
Are feeding times uniformly spaced at 8 hours apart or divided up during daylight hours ?
I do not know of such a timer, but WE could probably design one.

Is the power applied continuously for the 30-45 seconds?
How long is the reverse polarity signal applied?

Might work: DripWorks.com, left side down to Timers, click; High End Battery ( DC ) Timers, clock; review Galcon Single Station Battery Timer. $ 89.95. Need to add relay & short timer.

What is the delay time between the opening and closing?

Simple with a SmartRelay that has the real time clock option.
    Max.
