Hello,

Can there be a light on one side and a detector on the other side?
Or must the light and detector be on the same side?

Greetings,

Hello,

Here are two examples of "slotted" opto-interupters.
The MOC70P , with a transistor output.
And the OPB917 , with a logic output.
(see PDF's).
Both can be obtained at digikey.

Greetings,
Bertus

Dear

Thanx for your prompt reply but can u suggest me the second configuration in which transmitter and reciever both are different this will be suit to my machine mechanically very well.

Any standard ckt can be made with IR transmitter and reciever with potiometer for adjusting wavelength.
