what is the differences between a 1 time beep sound and a continuous beeeeepppppppp sound when using a digital multimeter to test for a continuity check on wires ?

Hello,

It could be that there is a capacitor between the leads at the short beep.
When the capacitor gets a voltage pushed on it reacts as a short, but as the voltage on the capacitor goes higher the beep will stop.
