i thought of double pair of complementary fets to be able to get/ident the regulator drawing less/more power
not necessarily a negative supply
there are higher power regulators available or a schematic for decent custom one likely is more simple
than starting burring components and rising complexity of paralleling 3 terminals
? perhaps there are avail "3 terminals" with paralleling option pins
(never read the 1-st post properly - just saw a useless schematic of 7805)

the document/book resembling to the one with pg96 actually discussed in detail the "mission impossible" of making sense of "balancing" currents between supplies alike to attempting smooth the rails for digital iC-s

Вот товарищ Бордодынов :) всё прекрасно но если изменит ето для пятивольтных регуляторов либо нужно использовать дополнительный источник отрицательного напряжения или ключит ПТ-МОС на выходов ОУ

Here Comrade Bordodynov :) everything is fine but if you change it for my pyativoltnyh regulators or need to use an additional source of negative voltage or a key-MOS FET op-amp outputs

There are many global languages - a good scientist knows them all.
(besides my grandparents are from early international background though my other side´s grammas sis lived in Seattle u.s. after wwii and granpas brother?s line in Sweden -- bloody Estonians creep everywhere thei're not required, muhahaa)

I was curious so... Here is what Google translate said:

Has anybody mentioned a heat sink ? You're not going to get anywhere near the rated output current (for long) without some thermal management. What's the input voltage, roughly ? For a 7805, it should be greater than 7V. Greater than 8V recommended. Let's say its 11V. If you're drawing 750mA, then the power dissipated by the 7805 will be (11V-5V)*0.75A, or 4.5W. If there's no heatsink, the thermal shutdown, on that 7805, will kick in, in short order. That's why power devices have mounting tabs. So they can be mounted onto a big slab of metal, to pull away the heat.

to me it was just gibberish.

I believe that part is covered.

i just tested "no neg rail extension v." values for C6,8,3 are near minimum required - for "output stable" for slow varying load
. . . (!!! it doesnot mean anything at that early stage -- the SC protection and current limit have to be re-inve(-/impleme)nted)
