I am trying to understand the CA3140 and the CA3130 Datasheets.

    Both state:

    CA3140

DC Supply voltage (Between V+ and V- terminals) 36 Volt

    CA3130

DC Supply voltage (Between V+ and V- terminals) 16 Volt

    CA3140

    DC Input Voltage (V+ +8V) To (V- -0.5V)

    CA3130

    DC Input Voltage (V+ +8V) To (V- -0.5V)

This is confusing what is each IC’s Supply voltage and What does the input voltage refer to.

Your inputs can go 8V above the supply voltage and .5v below the negative supply voltage (pins 2 and 3)
