I am unable to locate the reason for the placement of R17-10M Ohms resistor in the circuit attached.

    Can anyone give your inputs?

Can I use tantalum capacitors instead of ceramic? C1 and C3!

    Hello,

C1 and C3 are electrolitic capacitors.
Tantalium could be used at those positions.
The resistor R17 is probably there for esd protection.

Thank you for the quick response.

We go for Tantalium capacitor to improve its current capacity?

What will that R17 do for esd protection?

    Hello,

The following page will explain the difference between the aluminium and tantalium capacitors:

R17 will provide a permanent leak current to esd can not build up.
