I want to check the resistance between pins of a TTL IC with my analog multimeter which has X10K ohm range giving 12Vdc(inside got 12V battery),I do not know whether the 12V batt voltage will damage the TTL IC (which only can stand or supplied by 5Vdc) or not?

You cant check the resistance between the pins of an IC with a voltmeter because it does not contain a pure resistance inside it.

You can check a logic IC by a meter if you look at the outputs and inputs under power and static conditions. If the output follows the input truth table, it's good.

The best device for checking logic is an oscilloscope.

Pin-to-pin resistance checks will not be useful as the previous post mentioned.
