I am looking for some help I have a set of capacitors that are rated at 330v and total 3600uf (to be upgraded later to more than double the capacitance).

The help I need is in designing a simple circuit that will allow me to charge these to 300v +/- (using 4 Dcell batteries wired in both series and parallell to reach 3v as the power supply) within about 0.2-2 seconds and automatically stop charging a signal light would be helpful as well maybe something simple like an led... I also need help with keeping the discharge of the capacitors from feeding back to the charging circuit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

BTW this is going to be used in a coil gun and I am just sick and tired of using the charging circuits from the disposable cameras.

Hi,

There is one that I am going to be using that supposedly had great results. You can find the schematic and a "brief" materials list @ anothercoilgunsite.com > Portable > Construction > Boost Converter
