I just upgraded to Windows 7. On Windows XP, I changed the default location for where Thunderbird finds the Addressbook to my D: drive.

I can see the old D drive in Windows 7 and I can see the Addressbook file but I need to point Thunderbird to it.

I know I have done it before but I am at a lose of how to do it now. Anyone know?

Figured in out. You need to change the path setting in profiles.ini under %AppData%.

    Sorry, didn't see this thread.

Tools | Options | Config Editor | Say I promise to be careful.

Scroll down the list to mail.root entries and change the paths if you know they exist.

If you want to change the location (path) of your address book, you can use symbolic links to do so. Built-in and easy to do in Linux, you need a extra tool to do this on Windows (XP/Vista/7).

The program Link Shell Extension do this well and easily.

In my case, I have my address book located in DropBox and I replaced by a symbolic link the abook.mab file in %appdata% > Thunderbird > Profiles > "profile name"
