Hello everyone,
I am trying to make a 4 hour up counter with 74190 IC.
The first one is a mod 10 for ones of seconds, the second one is a mod 6 for tens of seconds. Third would be a mod 10 for ones of mins and four would be mod 6 for tens of min. The fifth would be a mod 5 since i only want it to count to 4 hours. I would also like to know how to rest the counter back to zero? My trouble is how do i wire these up together so each one is triggered at thier proper times?

 

Check out the schematic I posted in the garden railway thread. It can be modified for any time you like.

 

If you are not limited to 74190's, a 4060 can supply clock and counting all in one IC, including 4 hours. If interested someone will come up with schematic.

Is there a way to reset a 74121 timer?

 

Only by removing power. Check the '123 - two sections and both have a reset line.
