I have an experimental heating system which is powered from a 240V 5000VA transformer with a 55 volt 60hz transformer secondary. I wish to add a capacitor across the secondary to reduce the load on the 5000 VA transformer which is running at 5500 VA.
I wish to reduce the transformer load to 4500 VA or so. Finding a 55-75V capacitor is proving to be a problem also. I figure I need 1.0, to 1,5F capacitor?

What is the load? Need more information if this is for power factor correction, the actual power cannot be changed too much if that is what is being drawn by the secondary, and 5kW is a lot of power.
