I am trying to rescue an old solarteon oscilloscope cd 1400. It uses one of these capacitors in its eht circuit. This one appears to have failed with oil on the board surrounding the capacitor. It was a can style electolytic with wires on each end.
Any ideas about sourcing a replacement or could I consider something like the capacitor from a microwave oven ?
    Thanks
    Tony

More modern systems will use a 1kV or 2kV ceramic for that task. Cap should be available from Element14 or Digikey.

0.068 is common value and should be fine.

The part is an axial lead electro which sounds very old. I wouldn't sweat about getting an exact value, the original part probably had a value tolerance of 10% or worse. :)
