Can you tell me what this is?

    Hey the Chip on the board, in focus, could someone please tell me what it is. I can't find anything online for data sheets.

    Looks like the LM358 low power dual operational amplifier from ST Microelectronics...

    thankyou, although bmorse was right.

    I aready ordered a new one of the wounded things, i was just curious what the chip was. i am curious as to how it got sheared but whatever.

    I don't see anything awry with the '358. They come with the side near pin 1 cut at an angle.

    The D882 is a different story; there is a piece missing from the package. That probably happened when the magic smoke made a hasty exit - either that, or it got whacked with something.

    Looks like the PCB was cut off from a larger board, (the printing for the Q3 is too close to the edge, and the solder pad looks like it was also sheared).... but the transistor does look like it has suffered some kind of trauma....
