I bought these little boards but cannot see the ground connection, can you?
There are 4 level shifters, input/output pins and Vcc for 5 and 3.3 I can see but where is the ground connection?

    The instructions say
...an example when Arduino is interfaced with an 3.3V device
HV : high voltage level (connect to Arduino's 5V supply)
LV : low voltage level (connect to Arduino's 3.3V supply)
L1-L4 / H1-H4 : low and high level IO lines, connect 5V IO lines of Arduino to H1-H4 and IO lines of 3.3V device to L1-L4

    The listing is at http://www.ebay.ca/itm/181275880556

I do not think you need a ground for this PCB

Agreed. Connect the grounds external to this PCB.
