im not sure how to wire it though cuz im pretty new at this stuff, but i think its one of these two ways, if so then which, first or second?

The first is the right one

 

The schematic in the first link is correct. The switch drawing on the left (i.e., the one with the wires crossing) in the second link is the same as the schematic and is also correct.
