Hi,

I'm panicking cause i have an exam 2moz and i need to be able to use the superposition theory.

I have googled and read the tutorial on ti like 100 times and have asked ppl on my course but nobody can help me :(

My problem with the turtorial is i hve no idea how they get the Voltage over each of the resistors

I understad how the theory works but i jus can't implement it. Can any1 walk me through an example i would be eternally grateful

Thanks loads

Peter Charij

ps

jus a simple explanation on how they get the table in the tutorial will do :p

its as easy as solving a circuit as many times as the no of sources connected using kvl.
we remove all except one source and find its effect on the circuit(in terms of current and voltage drops)
then we remove all but another source and solve again.
we continue this for all sources and then add their effects algebraically.

attached are two files considering two sources separately.
when voltage source is killed it is shorted.
when current source is killed it is opened.

i have encircled wherever the circuit was simplified using resistance eq in parallel and series.

ask if u have any doubt.

also the in voltage killed part u can find Vo by many methods (like finding current in a branch and finding voltage dropped by it etc.

did u get the answer?
its 0 + 3 = 3v

also check the attachments if they appeared too small to u.
i changed the format.
