Can anyone identify this component? (board level)

    I've been having trouble with my car after a dead battery. Come to find out the issue goes into the BCM. It's a 2006 Pontiac GTO. I've taken the cover off of the BCM and found some kind of diode was fried, but that was the only component, and I had traced the pin to the battery power to this burnt diode which leads me to believe it is just something to regulate voltage and also the first thing power passes into in the board. Anyway I'm seeing if someone can identify this diode for me so i can try to replace it with an identical one.

    Here is a picture of what the circuit board on my bcm is supposed to look like. The blue piece in the middle of the board on mine is burned up. there are 3 more off to the side of the board identical to the middle one. they are disc-shaped, blue, and one side reads:

    I think it's a varistor or a capacitor. It's definitely the first thing that power passes through. Let me know whatever other information you'd need to help me ID this and I can obtain it for you.

    Are there any identification letters or numbers on it? the picture is small, can you take a close up?

    Metal Oxide Varistors? can you by chance tell what they are rated for?

    You would have to take a better picture of the numbers on MOV.

    But they could be 14V rated MOV's

    Its 7mm size,14V rated and 10% tolerance.

    Is the 0543 important to anything?

    Im wrong. It's size is 14mm but voltage rating is still unknown?

    Take a ruler and measure one of the MOV's.

    they do measure out to 7mm

    Then they are most likely 14V rated.

    68 - 70V would be a good guess for automotive electronics.

    If they sell it specifically for automotive use - you have easy comeback if it doesn't perform as claimed.

    The GI range of automotive clamp diodes were usually rated for about 68V withstand voltage.

    I see V Nominal DC =22V
    V ndc MIN (V) = 19.8V
    VNDC max (V) = 24.2

    That tells me +/- 10%

    So I soldered the component onto the board, seems like a clean solder. Would it matter which way the varistor were oriented? (is one lead positive and one negative?). I'm making sure that isn't a possibility.
