HI I am designing a battery backup circuit for PCF8583 RTC. The datasheet gives the following info

supply current
(clock mode)
VDD = 5 V 10uA(Typical) 50 uA(max)
VDD = 1 V 2uA(Typical) 10 uA(max)

Typical condition Temp = 25 deg C

I am operating the RTC from 3 V battery.

How could I calculate the power consumption? Is there any formula or method to calculate the power consumption?

You should consider the data for 5V, for safety. Then, the power consumption would be:
P = V x I, being V = 3V and I the current for 5V
