i am looking for an output buffer (maybe a 741) that feeds a -10V to +`10V into a moving coil meter .
    Can anyone recommend a circuit?

Give us some greater detail. What kind of signal is being buffered? Do you have a dual voltage power source?

Hi yes I have a +/- 15V power supply. The signal is a dc voltage between -10V and +10V

You just need to use the op amp as a voltage follower. The first illo in the Ebook chapter will work - http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt_8/4.html

We kinda hate to say it, but a 741 op amp should work in this application. They can follow DC pretty well.
