Buck Boost Converter Equation

    Hi there,

    I found some equations for a buck boost converter. They are as follows:

    kt χ Io= ΔIL(1-D)/2

    (IL)max = ΔIL/2(1+ 1/kt)

    I try my best to figure out the parameters in the equation

    D = duty cycle
    ΔIL = the change of inductor current
    Io = Average output current ------------ Is that correct

    What actually Kt ?

    Probably something to do with frequency or 1/frequency.
    Where did you find it?

    I found this equation on an exam paper. They had mentioned only the value for Kt.

    I want to know actually what it does mean?
