I am given a task to design a dimmer circuit........................Actually its a circuit with a fixed input of 28V but on the output end we have LEDs whos brightness should be variable as per need............SO circuit should have some mecahnism to control the voltages................

Suggesst me some good circuit to do so

I am thinking to use rheostats but my teacher is saying that it is an old idea an come up with some new idea...

Please give some good ideas
