Breadboard Material

    This may seem like a strange question, but what is a breadboard made of?

    I know there's nickel plated fingers in the board but I have no idea what the plastic casing is made of. It seems like either ABS or Nylon. Can anyone shed any light on this?

    That's an interesting question, and I can't answer it offhand.

    Seems like different manufacturers use slightly different material.

    PVC would be a likely candidate.
    Wiki's entry on breadboards is interesting, but doesn't shed much light on the material used other than "plastic":

    ABS,PVC, POM depending on manufacturer.

    ABS is what I could find, but I thought my older boards were PVC and nickel coated points.
