Boost converter (10MHz switching frequency)

You might read this to see what's involved in doing a 10 MHz boost converter. It's far from a trivial task.
It is quite extraordinary what properly guided and encouraged young people can accomplish. Three things I note from their paper:
  1. Component selection consumed enormous amounts of time. Low ESR and fast rise and fall times were the hardest component problems. This would not be unexpected.
  2. They had to use an external function generator to get their design to work.
  3. The device could not do a cold start.
Still I was more than impressed with their creativity and their technical abilities to analyze and rework their design to overcome the problems.
