Would a piezoelectric transducer encased in epoxy transmit sound waves like a bone conducting speaker? I can't find any info on the construction of bone conducting speakers like the ones used in diving. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt it. Epoxy is nowhere near the structure of bone.

I suggest you search the biomedical literature directly rather than depend on Google. Try:

    http://gateway.nlm.nih.gov/gw/Cmd

I searched on "bone sound conduction model" and got a few hits, including this one:

    http://gateway.nlm.nih.gov/gw/Cmd?l...nd+Item+%3A+13&HIDDEN_TIMESTAMP=1278497426729

Other search terms may be more productive.
