Hi all,
I'm seeking help yet again! I'm in the thought stage of a new project, I would like to build some basic dataloggers to attach to cows.

I would like to be able to download these twice a day when they are gathered. What do folks think is my best bet for doing this? I've used serial bluetooth modules in the past to send data from the uart on a pic to my phone, these have limited range though. More expensive bluetooth modules would seem to have better range but are more expensive!

I'm going to use a cheap andriod tablet to recieve the data, hence bluetooth being my first thought.

However a search of the rs site found me quite cheap rf transcievers, these would seem to give better range and less money! Although it would involve a bit more programming for the dataloggers pic and mean making perhaps a bluetooth to rf adaptor for the tablet? (or a serial adaptor I suppose?)

Which way is best?

Cheers Geoff
