how to remove rubber coupling from shafting? (osterizer blender 4172). tnx
There may not be a non-destructive way to do it. I believe the rubber is molded over a metal framework and the blade shaft is peened at the blade end to complete the assembly.
how to replace the bushing?
Do you mean this part: http://www.householdappliance.com/online-store/scstore/graphics/17608big2.jpg?
yes. thats the rubber coupling. i wander how to remove that from the shafting so that i can pullout the rotor together with the shafting?
It's threaded so there may be some wrench flats on the shaft below it.
what kind of tools do i need to remove the rubber coupling from the shafting? thank you.
Depending on the direction the blades turn, the threads may be left handed also.
a pair of pliers should be all you need to remove the bushing.
Here is a link that while it isn't your model blender should be the same as far as the fix goes; http://www.fixya.com/support/t1272345-replacing_rubber_drive_coupling
Thank you very much. I'll try to do it...
