BLDC PMSM - output power

    Hi All,

    In Field Oriented Control, would the RMS current of the rotating Iq current be representative of the 'actual' output RMS current?

    I get confused because the windings of the motor become a 3 phase system, but I only have the RMS of the Iq current.

    As far as I know, the 'winding'' current will be at a maximum when Iq is in direct alignment with a winding, as 'all' of Iq is going down that winding.

    So if my Iq has a maximum of 14A, then none of my windings should be exceeding 14A correct?

    Does anyone know how to calculate the output power of such a system knowing only Iq?
