could you please anyone suggest and explain me,which device is better either SCR or IGBT for induction heating (induction melting).
i think most of the medium frequency applications includes igbts than scrs.
if frequency limitation is with scrs then what ll be the solution.
could you please any one explain exactly...

 

Find the device which will meet your design requirements such as maximum current, maximum voltage, switching speed etc.

You said SCR but I think you meant GTO (SCR which can be turned on/off with its gate voltage).
