I'm using a transistor (LM395) as a low level switch in a high voltage
triggering application. I used the 395 as it's got 40V base protection
and I have bi-polar transient voltage suppressors rated for much less
than that also on the base as well as current limiting resistors.

My question, what kind of protection if any is needed on the emitter
collector.. I don't want to slow the transistor down as this needs to
be a very fast switch..

Any thoughts or suggestions

 

A schematic would be helpful.
