I am drawing up a schematic that takes a chip like the Analog Devices ADE7878 and wiring it on a schematic to a chip like the TI AM335x. Just wiring to GPIOs on the latter; wasn't sure if I can just tie them together. Any thoughts?

If the two chips have compatible logic levels and the supply voltage is the same level then you can connect the two directly.

That makes perfect sense. All true in my case I think but I will be verifying. Thanks!
