I need to clean the workbenches in our lab but am not sure what to use exactly. The benches have dirt and grime from years of flux, solder and alcohol (along with other chemicals). At the same time, there are lots of expensive and sensitive devices kept on the benches (scopes, AFG's, boards, etc.) and I don't want to damage them or anything. Is there anything that might suit this job from your experience?

Rubbing alcohol is generally one of my first go-to's for cleaning that type of thing. If that won't cut the grunge, I work my way up.

Hint: Sprayable flux remover is pretty potent and often safe for plastics.

 

I use high grade alcohol or windex with a magic eraser or micro fiber cloth....
