Hello all, I have a Century Car battery charger that I would like to repair. I think that a Transistor is bad, I can't find a parts diagram of this charger, because it's too old according to Century. Model # 6z763B part # 141-291-910. The charger has power until it get ti the circuit board, where, I believe it goes through a Transistor of some sort.

We might be able to tell something based on clear photos of the circuit board. That transistor may be an SCR.

here is a couple pictures of the transistor, it has a big piece of alumium ofr heat, I guess...I have power to this, but not past it.

 

Can you read the part number on the part in question. the photo's don't say much.

Looks like an SCR based on the number you provided.

If this is the case the pinout should be K A G (Cathode, Anode, Gate)
