I have been trying to search for a bass and/or treble boosting circuit that can customly boost 20-60hz ish up to about 16dB

It needs to really have an output suitable for headphones and earphones, since i have a preamp anyway inbuilt into the hifi so amplification isnt necessary.

    I have found this website
    http://www.redcircuits.com/Page60.htm
But it is for 20/30v and unsuitable for headphones even at 9v (i emailed them)

    I also found this website
    http://www.extremecircuits.net/2009/08/bass-booster-circuit.html
But it doesnt say how it actually works - and if it actually works

Anyone got any circuits that work? :) thanks a bunch

The first circuit is overkill for what you're trying to do and the second one is merely a "treble cut" circuit; it doesn't amplify the higher frequencies as much as it does the lower ones.

Look in the app sheets for some of the more common op amps and you'll find plenty of examples of different type tone control circuits.

Thats the idea of a bass booster - frequencies are in the range of 10-50hz ;) while maintaining the higher frequencies keeping a natural sound

Umm where abouts are the app sheets found?

    Thanks for the reply :)

Try different manufacturers data sheets from a select few of the ICs you can find here:
    http://www.mouser.com/Semiconductors/Integrated-Circuits-ICs/Amplifier-ICs/Op-Amps/_/N-6j73m/

You could also use something like the smaller of these two circuits, just substitute an inductor for the 0.15 uF capacitor - you could even leave the pot on the right out of the circuit and ground that leg of the inductor. I wouldn't worry about the bias change of the transistor, the 6.8K collector resistor will limit the current just fine if run on 9V.

    Plenty of options here too:
