    Hi,

I run a linux machine to program my chips with an AVRIsp MkII. I am using AVR-GCC/AVRdude to do the task. I recently bought the ATMega88PA version of the ATMega88 I can't get my program into it. I tried modifying my /etc/avrdude.conf file so that when avrdude detects the unknown device's signature, it programs the chip like an ATMega88. I can't even get a LED to flash with that method. Is there anything else I can try?

Are you running a 64bit machine by chance?
