Please provide me link to some good Literature to audio front end design involving mic , preamplifiers , ADCs, Audio Codec etc.

I am newbee to this field. Especially dealing with signal to noise ratio , Capacitors to be used in audio design , Single to differential converters, Low noise amplifiers , ADCs to be chosen etc

any help is welcome

Is there any means by which I can detect the presence of audio and then wake up the codec and Processors.???
