Hi there

I tried to design ferrite toroid transformer. In selecting core size, I got a big number of "Area Product" (Windows core area x Effective core area) which mean a big core is needed.

My question is, can I replace the One Big Core with some Smaller Core placed together????

(what i thought is, I can reduce windows area by using smaller core, and increase the Effective "core" area by using some smaller core together, so the Area product still the same. Is this right?)

Make sure you are selecting the right material for the frequency you are using. Also, check the core manufacturers websites for size and winding calculators.
