Are 128MB and 256MB RAM compatible?

    I have one 128MB RAM and another one is 256MB RAM.......so can i these different RAM r compatible...i mean can i add 128MB RAM with 256MB RAM....will there b any problem with it?

    i would b so greatful for any help!

    Hello,

    That depends.
    Look at the pin configuration, when the same pins are used for the addresses,
    and there is an extra addres pin on the 256 M chip, it shall not be a great problem.
    Just connect the extra pin to ground and you will have a 128 M chip.

    there are different types of ram like ddr1,ddr2,....
    you can only match a ram of same type.
    you take care on the type of ram.
