Anyone here ever try playing around with the Maxim MaxQ610 series of processors? On the surface they appear to be simpler when compared to something like a PIC32 (and not soo many overloaded pins) -- but I realize it's not exactly an apple-to-apple comparison either (e.g. no ADC, no comparitors,etc).. It is priced nicely in quantities and has several compilers setup for it (IAR, CrossWorks, MAX-IDE,etc) ..
I like that it has separate priv vs unpriv'd execution levels which is nice if you want to build an RTOS.. Anyway, they've been out for several years now -- hopefully someone has tried one..??! I'll admit that I'm leaning towards this in lieu of the PIC32 which costs more even though it has many features I really don't need..
Of course the PIC32 has a much easier part to solder -- SPDIP, SOIC vs. Maxim's TQFN-EP package..
