I pulled this from a Madcatz joystick. The pot went bad and I have no idea where to find a new one.

 

The clips on the casing are important

 

Also, I called Madcatz and they couldnt help.

 

It's a 50k linear trim pot. Good luck finding one that will fit mechanically!

 

Like #12 says, it's a trim pot. But it seems that it's fitted in a special plastic enclosure. If you can separate the enclosure from the component, then maybe you could find an equivalent that fits.

 

Most of these have the carbon track printed right on the inside of the plastic case. If the conductive track is on a removable piece, you have a chance.

 

Kind of looks like the ones they used in the old computer mouses(mice?) that had the ball in them.

Yeah, that's the problem here. There are dozens of 50k trim pots on digikey.
