Ya I've never needed a calculator that could do anything more than normal calculations... now I need to start doing complex calculations so I bought this casio one for $20... and I can't even get it to express my answers in decimals... all fractions and very annoying... I changed one thing to make it do decimals SOMETIMES, but then it still expresses answers with that weird one line answer in fractional form.... looks like an angle sign but not quite... i.e. 1/3 = 1L3 typa thing... annoying

And ya that's why I had points marked off earlier... I did the problem perfectly right but got the wrong answer... I wonder why....

I don't know what your course of study is, but if you're going to be doing more circuit analysis, you would probably be well advised to get a better calculator.

The high end TI's and HP's can do complex arithmetic without the weird error you're getting with the Casio. Also, they can do matrix arithmetic with complex values, which can be very handy.
