I wasnt sure if the tiny cores I included into Joule Thief kits actually do work at all, I did not have suitable wire to test, but it arrived today.
Yes they work very well actually.
Breadboarded it this time, with a PNP BC 327, green LED, and 680 Ohms.
Winding the transformer takes some efforts whatshowever.
I made adapters for the breadboard using row headers, and small pieces of perfboard. That's why the green epoxy proto boards arent as useful, you cant cut them easily.
The component tester I bought recently is highly useful to I would not want to do without it, except it cant measure small inductors.
