    Hello all,

Im having trouble understand the concept of a negative binary output number (with regards to the conversion from analog to digital).

For example, lets say i want to perform an integration on a sign wave ( one period) the values should combine to equal zero.

So if i use a full adder / subtractor circuit (and some memory) i should be able to accomplish this, the problem i am having is that i do not know how negative values are represented in the analog to digital conversion.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

You have to look at the particular converter you are using to determine how negative numbers are represented. Here are two typical ways.
