working on project with son and measuring amps with Fieldpiece multimeter -
and simple light bulb circuit

battery (3-1.5V 2A)
one small light bulb - do not know V/a but lights up bright with source.

when connecting amp meter in series -
after light between negative battery terminal and light -
the amp meter goes to zero?

simple schematic - V = volt source - - negative terminal - + positive terminal

V - -------------- Amp meter ------------light bulb |
V + ---------------------------------------------------
