As part of my final year project for university I am to design a mesh network using the zigbee protocol. I cannot use the normal 2.4GHz modules as I will be communicating over large distances and will require lower frequencies e.g. 900mhz.
I'm am basically looking for a cheaper alternative to the the lower frequency modules that Xbee produce. I was also looking at using a microcontroller and programming the zigbee stack on it. I'm not sure how feasible this is and would like some clarity.
First time poster but I have a feeling I will be posting here a lot more.
Regards,
Ben
