Pretty amazing, isn't it?

AI is scary, and hopefully this is not the beginning of the end for humans.

It's not the beginning of the end, but only because that beginning took place a long time ago. The list of things that computers do better than humans gets longer every day. It's probably growing exponentially, not linearly. When an AI can share its accumulated learning with another AI, we'd better be prepared.

I was thinking about this the other day. It is one thing to teach a robot to weld or open a door but when you allow it to "think" it start been scary. One wonders what would happen if one of these robots ever worked out that us humans can turn it off and retaliated as a form of self defence...

Exactly. A self aware AI can potentially mean the demise of a biological being like us.

Says the forum member suspected of being a chatbot by multiple other forum members for some time now.

BTW, your programing adjustments have improved how your software engineers are making you represent yourself but you still have a ways to go.

If your 2017 budgets allow, maybe bringing a few psychologists and sociologists in on your build teams would help. ;)

Master (AlphaGo) is simple in that it has one singular goal: to win a game.

It would have been much scaarier had AlphaGo purposely lost some games to get humans more interested in the game.

AI cannot fit imagination to a machine. So it will have to learn to fake it. Even cruelty has to be taught.

Lancets and knifes can cut meat in any way better than any human could dream. Still the human use them. Tools.
